Goal Exceeded!

A few months ago, some of you may remember I set a goal to complete my first 5k walk and do it in under 75 minutes. Well.... that goal could have been a little harder, but you're talking to a fifty year old well-marbled woman who had never walked more than a mile before and even that was under duress or coercion of some sort.

The walk was yesterday and yours truly completed it in under 56 minutes!!!!

Thank you, thank you very much.

Now I'm off to reward myself with a short overnight trip to visit two Frank Lloyd Wright houses!

How would YOU reward a goal exceeded?

It's getting a little cold to be doing much more of that... I think I need an indoor goal.

Oh they were absolutely fabulous, definitely worth the trip! That's going to be my next blog but without a whole lot of pictures... unfortunately they don't allow any photography inside.

Way to go!

I'm on a quest to visit as many MI lighthouses as possible. The latest involved a 4 mile round trip hike. My reward was NOT hiking the next day!

That's great! I could fast walk 2 miles in about 30 minutes a few years back, but that was my limit. I'd get really light headed after that. I always found the best reward for completing a walk was sitting on my ass.

TicklePlease replies on 10/22/2018 4:13 pm:
You're not alone in the sitting on your ass as a reward! I did nothing for the entire rest of the day.

My walk partner is a Gator fan (ugh I know ) so there's LOTS of smack talk and fanwear. They had a UF baseball cap on for the walk. And tried to sprint at the finish to win too! Cheaters. heh heh heh

I set out little stuff I can buy for myself if I hit a goal. Well ok..sometimes it's not so little. LOL

When these messages finally show up in 2 1/2 days, you'll see all the love.

You did it in 56 minutes as a 5K virgin? When I was going on 5K walks on a fairly regular basis about a year ago, my average time was about an hour and I'd reach a mile at roughly 20 minutes. The "Pacer" app is awesome for tracking your walk stats, if you make this a regular thing.

Girl, you rock!!

TicklePlease replies on 10/22/2018 4:20 pm:
IKR?!? Actually, since I stopped checking the "review all comments before they show up" box, I haven't had the delay. I guess it's worth the risk of somebody leaving an unwanted comment so I'm keeping it.

I'll have to look into the Pacer app, I've been using one called GeoTracker that was a leftover from my kayaking days but sometimes it leaves a little to be desired in terms of allowing too much operator error.

That's great! It's good to set attainable goals and meet or exceed them, rather than say, "Hey, I'm going to do a marathon in a month!" and fail miserably.
Good job and keep it up! You know, if you're looking to.

Bravo Tickle!! Well marbled...I like that expression never though of using it on the human form, but I keep thinking of Rib Eye Steak...now though mmm.

Well marinaded this one here!!

Reward eh mmm nothing springs to mind I like a really long shower after that kind of workout? Seems non reward like though, to my mind, more necessary
