This is insane ...

You should leave if you don't like what some would call a political post. I call it reality because it is not based on my political beliefs. I a live and let live guy. I walking out to my car today and noticed something that punched me in the gut. I look up and there it is, another American flag at half mast. I don't force my beliefs on others. I don't want to take any guns away from people. I don't want to change the Constitution, that is ridiculous. People with or without guns, whatever political beliefs or any other devisive line you want to draw have to pull their heads out of their ass. Something is wrong with how things are today. Saying there is no problem defies reality. I have a friend with 40+ guns, others with no gun and everything in between. That does not bother me one bit. I don't care if you own a gun or not, something is wrong either way.

Post your replies but don't be rude, demeaning, aggressive or anything else resembling an asshole.

Something really must change about attitudes in general, especially about guns.It has gotten way way beyond belief in so many ways. What is it that can be done now with so many deeply entrenched people on both sides? I wish I knew.
What has happened to our country? It's really gotten scary!!!

I own guns, big ones little ones, even primitive , have had some of them for 50 years, not one time has one of my weapons done any thing against humanity, Not one time in 50 years,,,, so are guns different in different places? Mine just sit here and are my tools to protect and entertain me.. And the most dangerous weapon is one that is "unloaded" you may as well hold a frying pan and it may even be better if it is cast iron, LOL

It's hard to pinpoint what makes a person want to kill themselves and what
they're trying to say when they mow down innocent people before they do.

I can't help but wonder if we are getting the whole story in all these incidents.
The sad reality is that it'll be generation or two before any mental illness is looked at as a condition many functioning people have and not condemned for.

The people that govern this country are so out of touch with those they're supposed to be working for.In the last twelve years the seats in congress has produced more millionaires in the wrong place and for all the wrong reasons.

Using more than all the road!

You sound like a responsible gun owner but I don't know you. I know people that are not. The responsible gun owners I know never call out those that are not. They may shake their heads but never come right out and say that is not right. I am not suggesting they will go kill people. We don't know if one of their grand kids will accidentally shoot themselves or a friend. We don't know what their stolen guns are being used for. The idea that everyone shouled own a gun falls flat on its face. Having the courage to acknowledge that problem seems unnecessarily difficult.

I believe mental illnesses carries a giant stigma on their back that they shouldn't. Too many people do not understand them. Everyone with a mental illness is not a danger to other people. I intentionally left mental illness out of my post because it is the go to scapegoat in tragedies. Everyone with a mental illness does not kill people. Everyone that does is not mentally ill.
