 A great post and very much needed. Unfortunately, I suspect that many who really need the advice won't take it. Still, newbies surer could use it.
The note about Viewed Your Profile is so important and so many do not seem to know about that quirk.

 Thank you for your very well-written suggestions. I know I'm among thousands who find this site frustrating but also feel like it's one of the only places to find like-minded people. The IM platform is especially frustrating at times.
