Sleep eludes me....

It's 1:20 am, of course I'm wide awake.

Ugh!

What do I do when it's the middle of the night and I can't sleep? Not what I want be doing....

I find myself laying in bed, kitty curled at feet, watching 'Bob's Burgers' while I peruse a sex site looking for blogs that catch my interest.

It's an exciting life I lead!

I think next I'll watch some paint dry while I alphabetize my spice rack....

Ha! Like I own spices!

Since I was stuck at home for a good portion of the day yesterday, I wound doing some unpacking and hanging paintings and pictures for a good part of that day.

It's amazing what a few wall hangings can do the feel of a room.

each new day passes this place feels more and more like home.

Granted, it was a pain in the fucking ass when my battery was dead and everything felt like a debacle.... When I lived in Gaylord I could have picked the phone and called the Ex Husband, Oldest , or just posted on the FB that I needed a lil help, and it would have been an easy peasy two minute trip help .

What did I learn from that debacle?

I learned that I can do it!

Not only did I not break down and ugly cry, I also didn't freak out and give . I got my car started, knew enough that the battery was not holding a charge so I needed replace it right away, put the fully charged jump box in my car in case I needed it the trip the auto parts place, and I got my battery replaced.

Mission accomplished!

Keep an eye on the battery's charge once you replace it. There were a couple of times I've replaced a battery only to find out I also needed to replace the alternator. Fortunately most auto part stores will sell you a rebuilt one for a decent price.
Some vehicles will have a voltmeter gauge in the instrument cluster it will have a + and - sign and when the engine is running the needle should show approximately +14 volts, If it is sitting around +12 or lower you may need a new alternator. Unfortunately not all cars are so equipped so you might need to check the voltage by running the car and using a voltmeter(multi-meter) placing the probes on the corresponding + (red) terminal, - (Black) terminal on the battery, a mechanic might do this for little or no charge but make sure you trust them.

Anyway. Didn't want to rag about that.

    Your fun-loving fucking turkeys? 🤔
Don't bring corn 🌽 — bring a long and thick stick. They're assholes and will attack. My turkeys know YOUR turkeys and they've already messaged. Fuck 'em.
    Sticks, not treats.
    Or...
Hey... Maybe, YOURS are placid. 🤔❗
Oh my.... Ha ha ha ha ha ha

How does that phrase go... Walk softly and carry a big stick?? LOL I didn't even see them last night on my walk. I also did not carry a stick or bring any corn, so it's probably a good thing I didn't see them.

When you said spice rack I thought of your boobs with all the food you drop on them. I guess I'm in a boob mood. I second what the other person said about the alternator. If you got a new battery and it fails to start your car in the next month or sooner then it's probably the alternator.
I actually did google it after I read that comment. I'm not all that mechanically knowledgeable so it was good to know! I've got that jump box fully charged and I'm carrying it in my car just in case, so fingers crossed, it's not an alternator.

When I was growing up I had a cat named Sam and she did the same thing. Always slept on the end of my bed by my feet.

My little deer friends were in my back yard when I got home from my walk tonight. I'm amazed at how comfortable all this wildlife is around people. There was a bunny that hopped out from under my deck and just sat there, watching me, while I got ready to head out on my walk. Crazy!

The last time I asked someone for help was when I moved.... Now he's not talking to me because I had thanked him in person when I dropped him off at his car and apparently that wasn't good enough. He was also expecting me to text a thank you, apparently, and now he's not talking to me. I'm better off just not asking for help.

Wait, your spice rack isn't already alphabetized??? Scandalous!

Kudos on addressing your battery situation on your own. That stuff can be intimidating, until you do it.
You know me.... Creating scandal wherever I go. LOL I have to say, once you formulate a plan and just put it into action, even those intimidating situations don't seem so bad.

Go to the dollar store and buy some spices and toss them in a cabinet. They'll be there next time you're not sleeping and need to alphabetize...something. Some spices are also good on those pesky turkeys that like to give you the side-eye. Just sayin....
Didn't see a single turkey on my walk tonight.... Bonus! I did see about 15 deer off in the distance in the field next to my house and 2 in my backyard behind the lilac bushes.

It feels kind of empowering, gives you a sense of accomplishment. We all need to have that from time to time.
