Worcestershire... yeah it can be somewhat of a tongue twister to say. It's not pronounced the way that it looks, as "wor-cester-shire" with a hard "c" sound as in "cat", pronouncing the last syllable like the breed of horse: Shire... oh no. I-(d

You'll be shot on sight by most people who are die hard fans of it for this mispronunciation.

I've been told that it's pronounced as worsch (like you're whistling), tuh (like saying "duh"), sure.

This was how my G-Maw pronounced it, and she was a type of lady that you'd say followed the saying "keeping up with the Jones's", had bridge parties, was somewhat of high society socialite in her younger years. Were talking around 1940s- late 1950s time in America.

Pretty sure anyone around my age or older had at least one relative who was like this. But yeah- that's how I was told to pronounce it.
