Yikes! That is a lot of snow! So glad you were able to pick up your daughter and the roomie! Staying at McDs would not be a fun night.

Um...last big purchase was a new sewing machine, about a year and a half ago. Not a necessity, but the new machine has made it easier for me to finish bigger quilts.

Weekend will be fairly quiet...grocery shopping tomorrow, some sewing in the afternoon, movie on Sunday morning (Fantastic Beasts!), then the pottery studio. (Wow, that sounds like a busy weekend, lol...)

My last big purchase was my car in 2011.

I wouldn't know how to begin to even drive in snow.

Nice fridge.. Really nice. Last thing I bought? I have to say - nothing home related. My home has everything it needs. Perhaps computer stuff (a new screen) or a new musical toy (an 8 track mixer - the was sweet).. Mostly, the crap I buy now are - all for my car. I seem to be responsible for putting my car mechanic's kids thru college... 🤔😢😬

My last big purchase was a refrigerator. The appliance dealer we use gave me a hell of a deal, sold it at his cost. It got warm enough the last couple of days to melt our snow, but tomorrow it going to be in the 20s with a light dusting, don't think I'll do much. I grew up in Colorado and had to drive in snow from Oct. to April, Drove through some nasty blizzards more then a few times. Keep yourself and everyone safe and warm.

Not to rub it in, but 6 months ago I did get one of those new shiny refrigerators that makes ice and pours you water...it even beeps when the door is not fully closed! It doesn't talk to me though-that would be totally creepy! The old one is 22 years old and still humming away in the garage and keeping meats, ice cream and bottled water as cold as ever!

I had a pipe burst in the kitchen, so I replaced everything. It's really nice to have a fresh--looking kitchen after all these years, and it only cost me a few thousand for some upgrades.

I live in the south, and this morning it was 31 degrees, but no snow thankfully. That storm system hit us with rain for 3 days in a row before heading to the northeast.

Happy new fridge - sounds cool.

Last major expense was getting some new double glazing. The original wooden frames were deteriorating so I've got some nice new PVC type ones in now. Hopefully it'll feel a bit less draughty in winter.

A nice and shiny bobble for the kitchen . I had to replace the furnace last year, a bit of drama, but a relief now that it is done. We got 3-4 inches of the snow and it is gone now

My last big purchase was my new bike this springtime and I sure do enjoy it. It is a triumph rocket III and I love it. It is my stress relief. We are cool here but not much snow yet, the snowmobilers are waiting for it but I may be lacing up the skates this afternoon. River is frozen, may see a blog about it.

Congrats on the new fridge... I love shiny and new things like that. I might need a new one as well, although I could just tell my landlord this one is making weird noises... and I don't think to record it at the time.

My last big purchase... I might have to think about that. It could be my camera but that was a couple years ago. Oh it could all be the gear I bought to set up my studio. I'll go with the camera and studio gear.... although I got a great deal on most of the gear.

Would you consider a trip to FL on a plane, a rental car and staying at a hotel a purchase? If not then the laptop I bought to take with me. Both a have to purchase.
I practice fishtails and keeping the truck moving in a straight line if the roads are slippery enough...got a rear wheel drive truck. As a young driver I would practice in an empty parking lot...360s, sideways slides, stops and trying to keep the car fish tailing as I sped along in a straight line That practice has severed me well a few times.
Did not get a lot of snow here ,,,a heavy wet couple of inches,,,shoveled the driveway Friday..got a large area to shovel...I passed natures fitness test just fine...thought I would be sore but all good,,

Better to get it now before you come home and find everything inside it ruined. My last big expense was my sofa - needed something comfortable to sit on as was using a dining suite chair up till then. I'd be like the roomie too. Never had to drive in snow of any sort yet - flooded and very muddy roads, but not snowed under ones.

Hi J I've been a bit dispirited due to lack of a friend, just passed the 2nd anniversary of the split with my German X

I will catch up with the highlights, if I can call them that on the BBC NFL show tomorrow! I am watching West Virginia at Oklahoma on ESPN, the college games are the only ones I can see l live!

That's a nice new fridge as the newer ones are so darn expensive and who needs one that talks right.. So glad your enjoying the snow and so glad to hear your daughter and her roomie are okay and you are all safe and sound.

I spent the day out with my daughter and the grand daughters shopping for deals for Thanksgiving day dinner...I hope you are enjoying your weekend..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

We were very excited when we got our new fridge last year....yesterday the handle broke off on our backup fridge downstairs!
