Being A Mother Is Forever

No matter their age or what they have accomplished, you still worry about your . You never stop thinking about them or wanting the best for them. Perhaps I didn't fully understand this until I had my own.

My brothers and I were very different personalities, as well as in our interests, our strengths and our ambitions. My M.O.M. had her hands full adopting to our needs.

Like many people, when I was a , she and I went through some rough patches. However, after I started working full time, our bond became closer when we took a two week vacation together. I came back with a renewed respect for her and all that she had been through. I also knew that no matter what, she would always be there for me.

Even when I was married, every morning, she would phone me at work at the same time. It didn't matter if we had spoken the night before, she would still phone t.o touch base. Those moments were "our time'.

I would give anything to have those moments again.

Do these words resonate with you? What kind of relationship do you have with your Mother?

no truer love exists than the love of a mother

I'm glad my mom and I have a good enough relationship.

We get along, but we never talk about personal stuff.
Everyone seems to have their own way of interacting with their parents.
Some are more open, some are more closed with details.
Some are very respectful, others don't think highly of their parents.

I think highly of my parents, but I have difficulty to talk to them about my issues.
Both while growing up and now as a grown up.
I feel that I should be more open with what I tell them, but at the same time I feel that they don't want to hear it either. (it's complex for me)

It's nice to read your thoughts on being a mother. I lost my mother when I was really young and I'm sure she would have felt the same way you do.

Of course it does and I was not purposely excluding them . Since I am a Mother, I was expressing my feelings from that perspective. Thanks for dropping by.

Both my parents were in their early 70’s when they passed within 2 years of each other. A day doesn’t go by when I don’t think about them and miss them. I hope you get to spend time with your Mother soon. I will read your post and comment on your blog .

I saw the first meme posted elsewhere today and the words just flowed. Often I look in the mirror and do a double take. More and more, I am starting to look like her. Thank you for stopping by. Keep safe.

The relationship I have with my son is different than the one I have with my daughter. I think my relationship with my Mother also evolved as she became more open-minded. There were always some things I never talked to her about. Thank you for sharing your perspective.

Women share a unique and common bond through motherhood. My Mother was only nineteen and the eldest of five, when she lost her Mother. It left a lasting impact. Thank you for dropping by.

When I first saw the title, I thought I was going to cry. Tho, your words left me smiling, thinking such happy memories of my mom and our time together. Thank you for this ...

In Luv, Lite, Laffter ...

I am glad it triggered those thoughts. I had seen the meme elsewhere and it immediately touched me and then the words just flowed.
