A difference....

a day makes.

When the clock struck midnight here I aged another year, but I'll enjoy being a year younger till the clock strikes midnight where ever Japanese lover.net is based. Not sure how much longer that will be.

Perhaps you are aware of the east-Asian perspective . . . based on the 12 animals of the zodiac plus the 5 elements of metal, water, wood, fire and earth . . . that completing a full 60-year-cycle marks the ending of one life and the beginning of another.

Which makes you just a toddler in this second-go-round, ya - smile.

From a less ancient perspective, look for the book Transcend: Nine Steps To Living Well Forever by Kurzweil and Grossman. One of the best layman's guides to how our bodies function that I know of.

Grossman (a medical doctor) and Kurzweil (a noted futurologist) make the case that middle-aged people in good health will be able to live active, vigorous lives to the age of 150 . . . due to rapid advances in medical technology that will enable "roll back" of many of the effects of aging.

If you have more than half your life ahead of you still - a life in still-good health - how does that change your perspective on what to make of it ?

Either way, "How old you are" matters far less than "How you are old". Stay active, stay engaged, stay mentally young.

Not forgetting, Happy Birthday!

Thank you for my birthday wishes.

I'm far more healthy than my younger friends... two hip replacements and another waiting for a knee replacement, so count my luck in many ways. Also a lot better off than my younger brother and sister.

Sometimes I forget my age, which keeps me young. My passion is indoor skydiving done in a tunnel, there's no way I'd jump out of a plane. I have to stay healthy to be able to keep doing the tunnel.

Thank you.

Celebrations start this coming Saturday. Might be tempted into a glass or two of wine tonight though.

Happy Birthday! Mine is next week. I haven't jumped out of a plane in 40 yrs. It was fun. The tunnel sounds cool.

Happy Birthday! Any plans?
Get hammered, and run naked through your yard? Naked 'twister' with a close friend? What's up girl?

Thank you, and a big Happy Birthday for next week.

Did you skydive for fun, or was it work? I've got a friend that used to be in a parachute regiment many years ago.

The tunnel is loads of fun, I've done it 8 times. I'll be getting a voucher off my kids for Christmas.

Thank you.

A quiet day, nothing like you mentioned.

Going out to lunch on Saturday with my group of friends, then a short trip away with my best friend. I'll let you know if anything exciting happens.

Skydiving was for fun. I did 6 static line jumps, never went back for my free fall. I found a tunnel here might have to try that. Sounds like you will be flying a lot.

I would fly a lot more if it wasn't so expensive. You should give it a try, just hope you don't get hooked on it like me. If you do, let me know what you thought.
